The polar H7 uses bluetooth to link with my iPhone and gymlink to send data to my polar FT1 watch. Best of both worlds. My heartrate is logged in detail and I can glance at my wrist for my actual bpm.

My concern was the thickness of the module that is ‘clicked’ on the strap. But that is about the same as my iPhone 5. Nobody will notice it as a bump on your chest.

I use the iSmoothrun app (Ghost run and Keep health apps in sync) for most of my runs. It reports the time spend in the five heartrate zones. Now I know when my training was indeed a recovery run or when I was trying to hard.
